Edu-Funda provides education in two languages, namely Afrikaans and English. Both Afrikaans and English are used in one class.  The learner will be taught in their language of choice. The School is an educational institution for boys and girls.

Edu-funda is fully owned by the directors of Edu-Funda Learning Centre (Pty) Ltd Reg no: 2015/3612323/07. Mrs. Mathilda Strydom and Mr Johan Strydom.  

The religious ethos of the Centre is based on the Christian religion.

Admission enrolments

Personal interviews are held between the headmaster, parents and child.  Edu-Funda will accept any learner from Gr R – 12 who is in need of education.  We will accept learners with special educational needs.  (Learning barriers etc.)  We do not make provision for learners with physical disabilities.

Our Centre:

  • To provide independent Education in Afrikaans and English to learners in accordance with section 29(3) and (4) of the Constitution of South Africa and as defined in the South African Schools Act, No 84 of 1996, as amended, consolidated or re-enacted from time-to-time.
  • It is the aim of the Centre to produce young children who are independent thinkers with physical and moral courage, who are articulate, well-mannered and tolerant, educated in the widest sense of the word sensitive to the needs of others, and dedicated to the service of their fellow men and women and the community as a whole.
  • We believe in the worth, dignity and unique character of the individual.
  • To assist with career guidance and counselling services to persons attending the school.
  • Counselling services and guidance to our parents.
  • We strive to create an environment of tolerance and understanding, to ensure that the learners feel safe and happy.  
  • We believe that successful education is a partnership between the home and the Centre.  An atmosphere of openness, mutual trust and respect must exist amongst the partners – parents, students and staff members.
  • We believe in the upholding of traditional values that include good manners, fair play, high moral standards, and integrity.
  • We believe in the value of a holistic education in which students are exposed to, and encouraged to participate in, the widest range of intellectual and cultural pursuits, so as to produce a balanced and rounded individual.
  • Using programmes addressing the learning, teaching, training, curriculum support, whole development and safety and security at our Centre.

Edu-funda is an Independent organisation which started in 2009 as a home school centre for Impak/Delta.  In 2014 and 2015 Edu-funda was a home school centre for Word in Truth.  Edu-funda are founded with the main purpose of delivering quality education and assistance to whoever wants it, and within an educational supportive environment which is child friendly.  Edu-Funda treats every child equal and the main aim is to assist a child with any barriers, whether it is educational or emotional. Edu-Funda is a place where a child feels that he/she belong. This promotes positive discipline and creative thinking and is based on Christian principles.

Edu-Funda offer learners a balanced education through individual attention within clearly parameters of discipline where values, Christian principles, and creative thinking develop, so that in the adult world the can become what they want to become.  Edu-Funda assist the learners how to cope with everyday situations and challenges and how to overcome certain barriers.

General Education Objectives.

The Centre offers the National Curriculum prescribed by the NQF and implements it according using CAPS.  Edu-funda Gr 12 write the National Gr 12 exams through SACAI. Edu-Funda is registered with SACAI as an assessment Centre as well as an Examination Centre.  

  • Edu-Funda provides education in the following phases:
  • Foundation Phase (Grades R – 3)
  • Intermediate Phase ( Grades 4 – 6)
  • Senior Phase (Grades 7 – 9)
  • FET Phase (Grades 10-12)


There is an open and honest relationship between Edu-Funda and the parents.  The most effective way to achieve this, is a constant communication between   the teachers and the parents.  We communicate to our parents via e-mails, sms and one to one contact.


Edu-Funda can provide sufficient basic and appropriate facilities for the delivery of quality education. These facilities include a school building, learning materials and resources.  The facility will be maintained at all times, it is operational and complies with the regulations, e.g. safety and health, set by the authorities.

Discipline at School.

a. The maintenance of discipline at the Centre is the responsibility of the Headmaster and staff, with the assistance of the disciplinary committee.

b. In the case of students at the Centre, discipline is applied in terms of the South African Schools Act, Act No. 84 of 1996, all other relevant National and Provincial legislation, and the code of conduct approved by the Headmaster and staff of the school.

c. In the case of staff, discipline is applied in terms of the relevant National and Provincial legislation and the code of conduct approved by the Headmaster and staff of the school.
